Fifteen minutes. That's all I'm asking for. Just please hold off raining for fifteen minutes so I can get this little run in. Well, it at least wasn't pouring on me the entire time, but I have to say, I really hate running in the rain.
I still don't know if I did my benchmark run right. The app shows me finishing at a MUCH higher pace than I thought I was running. In fact it shows me gathering speed from the point at which I slowed down (I thought) all the way to the end of my run. That would be encouraging if I wasn't supposed to push out my hardest effort in the middle three minutes of the run. Oh well. Any way you look at it, I got out and pushed myself to a faster pace today. So that's a win.
I've scheduled my long run this week for Saturday when I hope it will not be raining. And I've recruited Noah (I think) to bike the seven-mile route with me since it'll be in uncharted territory for me on my new home turf. Seven miles, y'all! That's almost one Bay to Breakers!
