15.01 miles. The furthest I've ever run. I'm trying not to focus on how slow I was going and just be proud of putting one foot in front of the other for that long.
Noah biked with me the whole way (bless him). He had bananas and Gatorade, and every five miles I refueled... a good choice, I feel... it kept my sugar levels up and my electrolytes, too... and hydration is important.
Also, after the 13-mile run I had some pain in my right arch, which I have determined was due to pronation, which I blame on the holes in my socks. So today I made sure to wear durable socks and every once in a while reminded myself to spread out my toes and run on my whole foot. So far it seems to have helped.
Last week the last couple of miles (11-13) were pretty hard and slow for me. Even with lovely Lauren and Leslie there to cheer me on, my mind and body were pretty stressed at that point. This week it was miles 13-15 that caused me pain. I'm hoping it's just a mental hurdle, and that I'll keep pushing it back the further I go.
The time until my big run grows shorter even as the mileage of my training runs increases!
