Oh wait... maybe I'm recovering from this run that I did this afternoon, over a week since the last time I ran. Only 5.5 miles, but I didn't stretch beforehand (or roller) and so by mile 4 my right knee was really complaining. And then after the run, I didn't stretch either. I'm a bad, bad runner. And my knees and hamstrings are punishing me for it.
I blame Lauren. She was supposed to meet up with me in SF and make me make time to get a run in this past weekend. But while I was in SF at a writers conference, she was in Davis running with Leslie (who never runs with me anymore either).
There. I'm over it. I can't blame anyone but myself for my slacking training habits. I could talk to you about bad weather and busy schedules... but really, I just haven't made the time I should. Well, I haven't made the time that Nike+ says I should.
I'm practicing this new art of doing my due diligence while honoring my reality. So I'm just going to be okay with missing little runs every once and a while, and focus on getting the bigger runs in. Because they're only going to get bigger from here on out.
I have a 9-mile run on Sunday. The weather should hold out. Let's hope that I do, too!
