It's been a while since my last substantial run. My ankle was pretty tweaked after the 18-mile run, and then my last attempt at running was a mulligan of dizziness and nausea.
But I got out on the road today and ran my favorite 6-mile circuit in Davis, fighting my freak-out brain the whole time. I can run 6 miles easily, comfortably. But the last few runs have involved pain... and so my brain defaults to that setting when I think about running now.
I'm going to have to do some serious psyching up for the marathon... which... you guys, is in TWO WEEKS!!!! OMG OMG OMG! I keep telling myself it's okay. That I can do this. That I'll get through it and then I'll be so proud of having done it... and I'll be able to stop training for a while... which will be nice. I'm experiencing a lot of mental, as well as physical fatigue. It'll be nice to take a break for a while.
Before I sign off I have to point out that I went over 1000 miles on this run. I'm honestly amazed at the speed with which those miles accumulated. And in a couple weeks I'll add 26.2 miles to that number!
